Job Posting - Research and Policy Intern
General Description: Lansing City Councilmember Peter Spadafore is currently looking to fill an internship position for the 2018-19 academic year. Interns will have the opportunity to assist Councilmember Spadafore in general office operations including constituent relations, communications and research. Selected candidates will gain valuable hands-on local government, office, and policy experience. Hours are negotiable but City Council meets on Monday evenings and ideal candidates would be available before and during those meeting.
Salary: This is an unpaid position, but college credit is possible. See your school’s Internship Coordinator or Academic Advisor.
Minimum Qualifications: Strong applicants will have a positive attitude, previous office experience including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, telephone skills, and strong research and writing skills. Candidates must be able to work independently. Applicants should have a writing sample and references available upon request.
