Lansing City Council candidate Peter Spadafore, who is running for an at-large seat, announced today that he has received the endorsement of Rachel Lewis, President of the Lansing School Board.
"It has been my pleasure to work alongside Peter on the Lansing School Board for the past five years and witness firsthand his longstanding passion for bettering the Lansing community," said Rachel Lewis, President of the Lansing School Board. "He is an experienced, proven leader that has been heavily involved in improving our schools, but what sets Peter apart is the quality of his character.”
Spadafore, who is running for an at-large seat on the Lansing City Council has been a longtime resident of the area and has years of experience working to advance educational achievements in the district. As the former President of the Lansing School Board, Peter helped lead the district to a successful school bond issue in 2016, funding $120M in facility upgrades and the development of an innovative academic curriculum. He continues to serve on the board as Secretary.
“Peter always puts the best interests of Lansing students and families first and consistently strives to do good by our community,” said Lewis. “Peter is committed to making Lansing a better place and I have no doubt that he will continue to make positive changes as our next city council member."
Spadafore also works as the Associate Executive Director for Government Relations for the Michigan Association of School Administrators. Peter is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University where he studied Social Relations and Policy with an emphasis on education policy.
